Messi Refuses To Accept The Player Of The Tournament Award

It is reported that the FC Barcelona player Lionel Messi refused to accept the Player of the Tournament award at the Copa America. The player was very disappointed with Argentina’s lose to Chile that he didn’t even want to collect the award. He was not pleased with the way his country played and felt they could have done better to secure a win against Chile.

This award has been handed out in every tournament since the year 1987, with the previous MVP being Luis Suarez. Messi was named man of the match four times in six games. This is not the first time that his been giving this award. He received the very same award in 2014 at the World Cup Tournament.
