“Chiefs or Sundowns Plays an open game, But Other Teams They Just Come To Mark.”-Says Erasmus

Orlando Pirates striker, Kermit Erasmus, has shown that ‘smaller teams’ in the PSL are hard to play against because they are difficult to break down. Orlando Pirates have struggled so far in the league this season, they have only registered one win out five matches that they have played this campaign(4-1 victory against Chippa United) and losing to the likes of SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic repsectively and drawing with Mpumalanga Black Aces and Polokwane City.

They will be anticipating to get back to winning ways and get their league campaign back to winning ways when they play against Bidvest Wits next week Wednesday. However, ahead of that match they still need to play University of Pretoria for the first round of Telkom Knockout on Friday.

“Teams come well prepared when they come to play against Pirates. They mark us tightly and we have to plan better to make sure that we score goals,” Erasmus told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s up to us to change the approach and create more chances, even when we are tightly marked. When we play against Chiefs or Sundowns it’s usually an open game, but against the other teams they just come to mark.”
