Marawa TV Signs Bundesliga Deal

One of South Africa’s most recognised sports broadcasters Robert Marawa through his signature brand YouTube television sports station, Marawa TV signed an exclusive broadcast partnership deal with Bundesliga English channel to be the digital media rights holder for Sub Saharan Africa.

A deal signed by Marawa and Bundesliga CEO Robert Klein on Thursday Night Live sees Marawa TV which streams exclusively on YouTube having exclusive right to Bundesliga digital content which they can then beam to the rest of Africa.

Marawa who delivers exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of the latest sporting events from around the world with real-time content, updates and interviews profiling teams, players, tournaments and sports cultures adds the Bundesliga to his profile.

The Bundesliga deal aids Marawa’s portfolio and ambition to create a huge following on his YouTube channel and in the long run he could launch an actual TV channel which can be accessed on DStv which would be poking a middle finger to his former employers SuperSport.

Fans on social media were excited by the move and flooded Twitter (see responses below) with messages of support for Marawa especially after his unceremonious and acrimonious axing from the SuperSport stable where he popularised Thursday Night Live with Marawa show, a show that he has now transferred to his own station.
