Khune Says He Was Never In Talks With Sundowns Or Any Other Local Club

Ever since Itumeleng Khune has returned to Kaizer Chiefs he has distanced himself from other local club, he does not want to be linked with other club. Yesterday Khune’s saga ended when he was included in the match-day squad against Maritzburg United.

It is believed that the 28-year-old has signed a five year deal with Amakhosi and it is reported that he will be earning a salary of R470 000 a month, less than what he demanded. Khune made it clear that he did not crawl back to Chiefs in the interview he made with Soccer Laduma. He says that he had a number of deals lined up but he distanced himself from reports linking him to Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I have never spoken to Sundowns or any other team. Rumours will always be there and I treated them as such. I heard about Pirates and Chippa United too, but my agent never said anything serious about those teams. I knew where I wanted to be and that was to continue playing for Chiefs,” Khune said.
