Mamelodi Sundowns FC – Ticker Tape Parade
The City of Tshwane will be celebrating and acknowledging Mamelodi Sundowns FC victory this coming Friday 16 May 2014 as the team will be parading so to share their victory and glorious moments with their supporters throughout the city. The parade will begin in Nellmaphius then proceed through Mamelodi East and Far East before making its way through Mamelodi West, visiting various schools, malls and taxi ranks. The parade then moves on to East Lynne, then to Hammanskraal, Hebron, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Winterveld, Mmakau, Ga Rankuwa, Akasia, Atteridgeville, Pretoria West, TUT Main Campus, Marabastad and then on to Sammy Marks Square where the trophy will be handed over to Tshwane Executive Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa to round off the parade.
On Thursday, the Brazillians will visit league title sponsors Absa in downtown Johannesburg.
Mamelodi Sundowns FC were officially titled the ABSA Premiership League Champions on the 10th of May 2014 when they faced Maritzburg United and regardless of their draw, as they had already snatched the title when they were up against Supersport United FC in the Tshwane Derby at Loftus Versfeld on the 6th of May 2014 were they defeated the Matsatsantsa 3 – 0.
The parade will start at 7.30 in the morning and end at 17.30p.m.
