Matthew Booth, the former Mamelodi Sundowns player believes that Sundowns has what it takes to win the league and could pick up two or three trophies in total for the season. Last season Sundowns came in second place with a massive 12 points behind Kaizer Chiefs.
Last season the Brazilians managed to finish on a high, they earned most points in the second half of the leagueand won the 2015 edition of the Nedbank Cup. Booth believes that the club can do much better than expected and win a few more trophies than they did last season.
“Looking at the performances last season and the fact that Pitso seems more likely to add less and release more players and considering what is happening at Kaizer Chiefs right now, I think Sundowns will be the firm favourites to win the title. I imagine they could pick up two or three trophies in the upcoming season” said Booth.
