Zambia has fed the South African premier soccer league with greatly talented players over the years. Here is a list of Zambia’s top 5 players to play in the ABSA premiership.

5. Mwape Musonda was a good find for Orlando Pirates when he was brought in by Eric Tinkler.

4. Isaac Chansa showed an incredible work ethic, passing accuracy as well as vision during his days at Orlando Pirates. Chansa is without doubt one of the top Zambia players to grace the South African topflight league.

3. Christopher Katongo, made a mark during his days at Jomo Cosmos resulting in the Zambian attracting the attention of European teams. Following a stint in Europe, Katongo returned to South Africa and played for Golden Arrows as well as Bidvest Wits.

2. Dennis Lota, a great striker that represented Orlando Pirates with distinction during his peak. Lota was a prolific goal scorer that is rated among the greatest strikers to put on an Orlando Pirates shirt.

  1. Collins Mbesuma has shown his proficiency in front of goal. Mbesuma will best be remembered for scooping the South African PSL player of the year after scoring an incredible 35 goals in one season while at Kaizer Chiefs. He had stints at Orlando Pirates, Portsmouth and Moroka Swallows but is now at Mpumalanga Black Aces.
