Football Fraternity Mourns the Passing of Siphamandla Mtolo! The midfielder tragically and untimely passed away yesterday.

Richards Bay FC announced that midfielder Siphamandla Mtolo sadly passed away yesterday after collapsing in training in the morning. The local football fraternity has since sent their condolences after the tragedy.

The Natal Rich Boyz yesterday confirmed that their pivotal player lost his life. This came as a shock to domestic football.

Both the PSL and SAFA have paid tribute to the fallen Spepe.

“The South African Football Association (SAFA) has offered some words of comfort and sympathy to the family of Richards Bay midfielder Siphamandla Mtolo after the midfielder’s passing on Tuesday (7 March 2023)” SAFA wrote in a statement.

“The club said in a statement that Mtolo collapsed during training on Tuesday morning and passed away.

“He had been with the KwaZulu-Natal for the past three years after joining them from Motsepe Foundation Championship team Uthongathi FC.

“We as the South African Football Association would like to convey our sincerest condolences, deepest sympathy and heartfelt sorrow to his family, friends and the club during this difficult time.

“May his soul rest peace.” The association wrote.

The PSL revealed that a minute silence would be observed before every Nedbank Cup and DSTV Diski Challenge match over the course of the week.

“The Premier Soccer League (PSL) is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Richards Bay Football Club midfielder, Siphamandla Mtolo.” The PSL stated.

“A moment of silence will be observed in his honour at this week’s Nedbank Cup and DStv Diski Challenge fixtures.
