Free State Stars coach Ernst Middendorp feels that they are capable to beat anyone after beating Bidvest Wits in the Telkom Knockout this past weekend. Free State Stars will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the next round of the competition.
Former Kaizer Chiefs Mentor is unbeaten since taking over at the club in August, he has won three matches out four matches. It is a exceptional turnaround for a team that lost all three matches to start the season – form that pushed Ea Lla Koto to fire the former coach Kinnah Phiri.
“I am very confident in this team, if not arrogant, that we can beat any team that is put in front of us,” Middendorp said.
“I would like to give a huge compliment to the team the players showed great commitment to get us this win and for that I am happy,” Middendorp added. “We have number of youngsters who have shown hunger and a will to win. The players have really stepped up for us to get this.
“I will be smiling all the way to the quarter-finals.”concluded Free State stars coach.
