SA’s top defensive midfielder of all time

Eric Tinkler is among the top midfielders to ever turn out for South Africa. Blessed with a tremendous work rate and simplicity that made him a team player Tinkler made life easy for the backline.

The former Bafana Bafana star was part of the Bafana Bafana side which won the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

Tinkler also had an impressive club career after turning out for Portuguese side Vitoria de Setubal, Cagliary in Italy, Barnsley in England and Wits University.
