“Our Best Was Not Good Enough” – Arthur Zwane! Amakhosi finished their season last weekend with another loss.

Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to Cape Town City last week Saturday. Head coach Arthur Zwane admitted that their season had been massively underwhelming.

After the loss to The Cityzens, Amakhosi dropped down to fifth, where they finished the season. This was their 12th defeat in this DSTV Premiership season.

“We had a lot to play for today,” Mangethe spoke after the defeat to Cape Town City.

“We were playing for three points to consolidate our position and we didn’t do that. Obviously, I am disappointed, but I also feel sorry for these players.

“I think they gave everything and believed adamantly that we would go to the (Nedbank Cup) final, and from that game (losing the Nedbank Cup semi-final to Pirates) they never recovered.

“When I look at them today, they tried but our best was not good enough. We had the advantage in this game.

“We tried to make a few changes so we could have width and depth and try to penetrate their defence, but we didn’t pick the right pass or create enough space. Our tactical flexibility was not up to scratch.

“So, we did try to score, even though I wouldn’t be happy with a draw. We wanted to win.

“When you are Kaizer Chiefs you always want to win but it was one of those games and the players will keep learning because in football you never stop learning.” He spoke.
