1. Ertuğral took Ajax Cape Town to ABSA Cup glory with a 2–0 victory against league champions Mamelodi Sundowns on May 26, 2007.

2. On 8 October 2009, upon Bülent Uygun ‘s resignation, he agreed to pen a deal with the Turkish Super League underdogs
Sivasspor.

3. He was born September 15, 1959 in Instanbul, Turkey.

4. He first came to coach in South Africa, for Kaizer Chiefs in 1999.

5. He has also coached D.R Congo.

6. According to him, Cape Town is his second home.

7. As a player he played for Eskişehirspor.
