10 Things You Didn’t Know About Steve Komphela.

1. He was born July 1, 1967 in Kroonstad( Free State) and will be turning 50 years old this year.

2. In 1993 he was signed by Kaizer Chiefs from Free State Stars.

3. He was once the caretaker coach of South Africa in 2012.

4. He is the youngest of 11 children, his parents names are Jack Koyi Koyo and Nomalanga Komphela.

5. He is a teacher by profession, getting his diploma from the Tshiya College in the Free State.

6. He also hosted his own talk show on television channel Canakkale Dardanelspor AS where he sang Turkish folk songs and jokes.

7. He is one of the first players to play for the National team of South Africa in 1992.

8. He captained South Africa on 18 occasions.

9. He moved overseas to play for Gaziantepspor in the 1993/94 season.

10. He is yet to win any trophies as a coach.
