2016/17 Best XI of the PSL season.
1. Darren Keet
Keet got his chance earlier on in the season when Moneeb Joseph was red carded. Keet in his first season back from his stint in Belgium took the opportunity literally with both hands and made the number one spot his for most of the season
2. Sifiso Hlanti
By far the best left back in the country, Hlanti is yet to put a foot wrong. The speedy fullback put in solid performances and featured in almost all of his teams games
3. Thapelo Morena
Traditionally a right winger Morena put in solid performances throughout the season even making us forget about the likes of Mbekile and Siyanda Zwane. In his first season for Sundowns the speedy player proved his punters wrong.
4. Thulani Hlatshwayo
Tough guy Hlatshwayo famously known as “Tyson” marshaled Bidvest Wits to the PSL title. Captain of the team this one is certainly a nominee for player of the season
5. Tshepo Gumede
After being released by Orlando Pirates many might have thought that this was the end of Gumede, however he put in a lot of graft and was most definitely one of the best Centre backs this season
6. Hlompo Kekana
Despite a very grueling schedule and basically no rest, Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompo Kekana put in consistent performances netting several important goals for the team
7. Ben Motshwari
This is the surprise of the season “The Dark Horse”, very few new who he was until this season. For a short player Ben stood his ground and put in consistent performances.
8. Lebohang Manyama
With one game to go currently sitting on 13 goals Manyama is currently the top goal scorer. Walked away with many man of the match awards and set the scene ablaze.
9. Aubrey Ngoma
Another Cape Town City FC player that amazed us, with lightning speed and several assists Ngoma was one to watch.
10. Percy Tau
His star just kept rising and rising. Certainly a player for the future. Seven goals and seven assists throughout the season.
11. Gabadinho Mhango
Sitting on 9 goals Mhango dazzled us with his performances this season.
