5 Former South Africa PSL Players Who Are Now Coaches

Life after football can be complicated but over the years retired players have opened up foundations and some have taken the hot seat job to be coaches. Coaching is very tricky as you never know how things will go especially when your plan as a coach does not work out. These 5 former PSL players have now taken the hat as coaches and some are still looking for their first job while others have been successful.

Shaun Bartlett is the most successful in the list as he took Golden Arrows from the NFD to the PSL and then later on took over the reigns as coach for University of Pretoria who are now back in the NFD. Bartlett has a UEFA A Licence.

Bradley Carnell was recently assistant coach for Mushin Ertugral at Orlando Pirates and before Pirates he was assistant coach for Free State Stars. Carnell left Orlando Pirates last month to go pursue his coaching career overseas.

Benni McCarthy has a fresh UEFA B Licence he got in 2015. The former Orlando Pirates striker and Bafana Bafana all time leading goal scorer is now assisting SAFA to get a new coach. It was speculated he was going to be Orlando Pirates coach but that never materialized.

MacBeth Sibaya hung up his boots in 2013 and went to Germany to pursue his career as a coach. He is still yet to find a team to coach.

Former Manchester United and Bafana Bafana player Quinton Fortune has a UEFA B License but he is still yet to coach.
