5 local plyers who lost their lives due to car crashes.

1.Gift Leremi
Leremi Died in a car crash on 3 September 2007 in Alberton, near Johannesburg. Leremi lost control of his vehicle and was flung out of it, Leremi had just returned from Cameroon where he played for Mamelodi Sundowns in CAF Confederation match.

2. Lesley Manyathela
“Slow Poison” as he was famously known died when he lost control of his vehicle. The player was on his way to see his mother in Limpopo, he was at the time driving a VW Golf 4.

3. Mondli Cele

Maritzburg United player Mondli Cele died after the car he was a passenger in plunged into a river near eastern city Pietermaritzburg. The tragedy occurred a few hours after the 27 year old scored for his team in a 3-3 thriller against Orlando Pirates.

4. Cecil Lolo
Lolo passed on when his car collided with another vehicle in Khayelitsha, Lolo was driving a VW Golf at the time of the accident.

5. Richard Heynekane

Freestate stars striker Heynekanye died after a he was travelling in collided with a truck and caught fire. The player along with two other male companions and two females were trapped in the car when it caught fire.
