This year, Cristiano Ronaldo has reclaimed top spot from Lionel Messi as the highest paid footballer. This is after both superstars completed transfers in the same window.

Ronaldo left Juventus after three relatively successful years in Serie A. The Portuguese superstar re-joined Manchester United in the Premier League.
