Saturday flashback: John “Shoes” Moshoe, one of the best midfielders to be produced by South Africa.

John “Soes” Moshoe is without doubt one of the best midfielders South Africa has ever produced. Blessed with the ability to pick out teammates with ease Moshoe had amazing midfield qualities that the modern footballer would yearn for.

His talents saw him represent Kaizer Chiefs before moving abroad where he turned out for various Turkish clubs including giants Fenebahce.

Away from club football, Moshoes was anb influential player for Bafana Bafana as he was part of the class of 1996 which won the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil.

When Moshoe passed away in 2015 South Africa was in deep shock after losing one of their sporting heroes. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
