Transfer period vital for Kaizer Chiefs

Saturday’s goaless draw against Mamelodi Sundowns could easily have turned into victory had Amakhosi’s frontline put on their scoring boots.

Steve Khompela has been under pressure to ensure Chiefs are among the front runners in the league race but a clear lack of strikers appears to be having a negative impact on Amakhosi’s results.

Sitting in fourth position on 22 points, Kaizer Chiefs will have to put their act together if they are to keep up with front runners Bidvest Wits who top the standings with 29 points.

With the transfer window open, a starting point for Amakhosi could perhaps be the acquisition of a proficient striker that could bring in the much needed goals.
