South Africa’s greatest midfielder of all time?

South Africa has in the past produced great midfielders but few will argue Doctor Khumalo is one of the best ever produced by South Africa.

Blessed with a tremendous work ethic an incisive pass, great vision and skill were all part of Khumalo’s artillery.

Part of the team that won the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations Khumalo also had great success at club level where he was part of the Kaizer Chiefs teams that won three South African league championship titles and five knockout trophies and was also voted South African Footballer of the Year in 1992.

Khumalo also had stints in Argentina as well as in the United States.
