Supersport United Out To Maintain Record
Suport United are sett to continue with the club record this weekend when the take on Ajax Cape Town. Stuart Baxter’s side are currently 17 games unbeaten in the Absa Premiership, having last lost on the opening day of the season against Platinum Stars, equaling their 17-game record from 2009 after beating Highlands Park on Saturday.
Aside from the fact that they are 17 games unbeaten – the longest such streak in the league – and currently on top of the table, they are also the top scorers in the division at present, with 31 goals to date. They sit on top of the league and will be out in Cape Town to cement their place as contenders and stretch the lead.
Supersport United have won the PSL title three times in a row from 2007-2010. Will they win the league this year? It is too early to tell as the likes of Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs are joint log leaders. PSL just got interesting and records will either be rewritten or they will stay the same.
