Mame Niang Is Back In SA
He won the 2005/06 PSL top goalscorer award Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot with 14 goals while playing for Moroka Swallows. He has played for Supersport United and Mamelodi Sundowns and currently just returned from Norway and has signed up for Stellenbosch FC. That is none other than Mame Niang.
Many goal keepers will know of him and perhaps will best describe him by his great headers and shot at goals. The Senegalese striker left South Africa in 2015 and went to play overseas. He was playing for Mamelodi Sundowns prior to leaving SA and now he is back in the National First Division side Stellenbosch FC.
Stellenbosch FC proved they are a worthy side when they played Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup this past weekend. Although they lost 3-0, they are a solid team and Niang will add on the striking force to help the side progress to the PSL by the end of the NFD 2016/17 season. Stellenbosch are currently 4th on the NFD table with 31 points after 20 games and there is still 10 more games to play for before they can throw the towel of playing in the PSL next season.
