Khune To Captain Bafana Bafana
South Africa and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is confirmed to be the Bafana Bafana captain in the upcoming fixtures. Bafana Bafana are currently in camp preparing for their upcoming fixture. Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune, will be the captain for Bafana Bafana’s friendly games against Guinea-Bissau and Angola respectively.
Khune will be assisted by Mamelodi Sundowns’ Hlompho Kekana, Bidvest Wits’ Thulani Hlatshwayo and Dean Furman of SuperSport United, who have been selected as Bafana’s vic captain. Bafana Bafana will face Guinea-Bissau at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday from 15h00. The game will be followed by another clash, which will be against Angola at Buffalo City Stadium in East London on Tuesday.
All the Bafana Bafana players who play overseas have reported for camp. However, there is still uncertainty if Kamohelo will play for South Africa and this is following the player acquiring Dutch citizenship. Owen Da Gama was mum when asked to comment on the issue but instead emphasized the Mokojo is South African and the matter is being handled by SAFA and FIFA.
