Bradley Carnell Replaced As New York Red Bulls Manager!
Bradley Carnell Replaced As New York Red Bulls Manager! This follows a string of unsuccessful games in the MLS. The Red Bulls lost 3-1 against Kaka’s former side, Orlando City. Carnell is replaced by former Barnsley manager, Gerhard Struber. Struber and Barnsley cited that the release clause New York Red Bulls offered was too good to turn down.
Bradley Carnell had also disappointingly lost his first game in charge of the New York Red Bulls.
“Gerhard is a bright coach, and we’re very pleased to welcome him to the club,” said New York Red Bulls Head of Sport Kevin Thelwell.
“”We are really pleased with the process over the last month and are proud that our league’s policies are in line with our own when it comes to diversity in hiring,” said Thelwell. “We met and spent time with several great candidates of diverse backgrounds and experiences. The quality of the candidate pool further solidified our confidence in Gerhard as a top choice to lead our team.”
“I would also like to commend Bradley Carnell and the rest of the coaching staff for their leadership during the last month as we continue to work towards securing a playoff spot this season.” Thelwell added.
An excited Gerhard Struber also spoke on his new role: “”I am looking forward to getting to know my new team, hopefully very soon,” Struber said.”We want to pursue very ambitious goals together and develop steadily. The challenge of working in MLS makes me proud and gives me massive motivation for a big opportunity.”
The Red Bulls are yet to announce whether Bradley Carnell will go back to his role of an assistant coach or whether he’ll depart entirely. This decision will be based upon the technical staff that Struber will bring or not.
The Metro City are still in the hunt for a playoff spot. It will be very intriguing to see where they finish as Bradley Carnell replaced as New York Red Bulls manager!
