Switzerland lost to Spain on penalties to bow out of the tournament. Belgium lost 2-1 to Italy to also be another big team leave early.
The first semi-final of Euro 2020 will see a repeat of the 2012 final as Spain will take on Italy.

Spain took an early lead through a Jordi Alba deflected strike. The goal was awarded as an own goal by Switzerland’s Denis Zakaria.
The Swiss equalised in the second half through captain Xherdan Shaqiri’s relatively easy tap in. Midfielder Freuler saw himself sent off in the 77th minute.
The game went into extra time and still no one could take the lead. It went to penalties.
The Spanish managed to keep their cool and defeat the Swiss.

It was one of the highest intensity matches of the tournament thus far. Italy took the lead late into the first half through a Nicolo Barella strike.
The lead was doubled soon after as forward Lorenzo Insigne scored a typical curling shot from outside the box. Belgium were stunned.
Teenage forward Doku won a penalty for Belgium in first half added time. Striker Romelu Lukaku slotted the spot kick.
However, Lukaku missed two guilt edged opportunities in the second half. These were the only opportunities Belgium created, as they bowed out of yet another major tournament.
