Dennis Onyango Expects Very Difficult Match Against Kaizer Chiefs! The Brazilians take on Amakhosi in the MTN 8 on Sunday afternoon.

Mamelodi Sundowns veteran goalkeeper Dennis Onyango is aware of the difficult task they have on Sunday. They host Kaizer Chiefs in their MTN 8 quarterfinal fixture.

For the second consecutive season, Sundowns and Chiefs face each other on the opening weekend. This time, its in the MTN 8 though.

Last season the two sides opened their DSTV Premiership campaign in this fixture at the FNB Stadium. Masandawana comfortably defeated Gavin Hunt’s Chiefs 3-0.

This time, Kaizer Chiefs are a completely different prospect. They have replaced Hunt with Stuart Baxter.

The Glamour Boys have also made some key signings, including the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo and Keagan Dolly. Onyango knows how difficult it will be.

“It’s a very big encounter for us and of course for them, because they really want to win the first game and get into the semi-finals of the MTN8, but we’re also looking forward to it the same since we’ve been struggling to win the MTN8.” Onyango told the Sundowns media.

“It’s a very difficult game but it gives the opportunity also for the boys to start off with a strong side and try to get good results and get momentum to take us throughout the season.” said Onyango.

“Playing an opening game against Kaizer Chiefs is always mouth-watering, just like last season. [However] this season it’s different because it’s a cup game, last season it was a league match, those are two different competitions, and the approaches are not the same.” Onyango said.
