Austin Dube Hoping to Get More Minutes for Kaizer Chiefs! The newly signed Amakhosi defender made his debut before the international break.
Thabani Austin Dube is happy to have finally made his competitive debut for Kaizer Chiefs. Now he has the desire to get as many minutes as possible for Stuart Baxter.
Dube signed from GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay FC in the recent transfer. He joined alongside reigning PSL Defender Of the Season Njabulo Ngcobo.
He made his Kaizer Chiefs debut against Baroka FC in the DSTV Premiership on the 25th of August. He came on for fellow new signing Keagan Dolly in the dying embers of the game.
“It felt great that it finally happened (Kaizer Chiefs debut).” He said to the Kaizer Chiefs media department.
“I knew it was going to come someday, I just did not know when.
“I had to stay ready for it, I am very grateful that I played my first official game in the colours of Kaizer Chiefs,” the defender said.
His debut was followed with a call-up to the Bafana Bafana international camp. He didn’t play but was part of the squad that tops their FIFA World Cup qualifier.
“The national team call up is an honour, being called to represent the country is always an honour, everything happened so fast for me I made my debut for Chiefs a few days ago and now I am at the national team.
“I am honoured to be part of the national team, I feel happy, and these are joyful moments for me” he concluded.
Dube will now link up with the rest of the Amakhosi squad. Austin Dube Hoping to Get More Minutes for Kaizer Chiefs!
