Pierre Emerick Aubameyang had his contract mutually terminated by Arsenal. He has now officially been unveiled as a Catalan after joining FC Barcelona on a free transfer.
The striker was the Arsenal club captain for a few years and was a talismanic striker on the field of play. This season, Aubameyang struggled to replicate the form that has made him one of the most prolific strikers in European football.
This coincided with behavioural problems displayed the striker. He missed training and was consequently stripped of the captaincy by the club.
After that whole scrap, Aubameyang did not ever feature for the club.
“FC Barcelona and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have reached an agreement for the player to join the Club after the striker terminated his contract with Arsenal FC.” The club said in a statement.
“The play will sign a contract until 30 June 2025 with an option to agree departure on 30 June 2023 and his buyout clause will be set at 100 million euros.
“Shortly the Club will provide details of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s presentation as a first team player.” They spoke.
