Klate On Chippa United’s Norm Of Firing Coaches Constantly
Diane Klate seems to be unfazed by the idea that he might see his way out of Chippa United after being appointed as head coach. Generally, Chippa hardly ends the season without changing the coaches at least twice. The chairman of the club Chippa Mpengesi isn’t the type that can be patient with a coach hoping to see positive change in the near future.
Now, Klate has been told to stay with his bag packed because he might go soon. He says he won’t do that as he’s a local boy. He also added that he has nothing to lose but will gain experience.

“With the first team, it’s a completely new challenge. The first thing I realized is that it’s results orientated. It’s not about development. It’s not about next week,” Klate told media after Chippa’s DStv Diski Shield clash.
“You’ve got to get the three points, so it’s completely different to Diski. I completely understand that. If the results are not coming, then it’s a concern. We have to focus on one game at a time and getting the results and then we move on. I didn’t expect it, to be honest, because I thought I was enjoying myself and I was learning a lot, but I think the club felt that I am ready to be promoted.
“It’s a challenge. Somebody has to coach a team. The team will never be without a coach. I am a local boy, so I am not packing any bags. My cupboard is packed at home, so if I do lose the job like you guys say, I am already at home. I’ve got nothing to lose. I’ve got everything to gain. We will try get as many points as possible early on.”
