Sekhukhune United have confirmed the signing of Given Mashikinya. The length of his contract is yet to be disclosed by his new club.
It was only yesterday it was announced that the utility player could possibly be released by Maritzburg United, alongside two other players. Those rumours proved to be true as he was unveiled as a Babina Noko player hours later.
Mashikinya joins on a free transfer. He is the first signing of new head coach Brandon Truter, who replaces Kaitano Tembo.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Given Kamogelo Mashikinya.
“Mashikinya (31), joins after having last played for Maritzburg United FC. A model professional who plays both central midfield and right back.
“Sekhukhune FC would like to welcome Mashikinya to the Babina Noko family.” The club said in a statement.
Mashikinya previously represented the likes of Mpumalanga Black Aces, Cape Town City, Bloemfontein Celtic, Royal AM and most previously Maritzburg United. He is delighted with the opportunity to represent Babina Noko.
“I’d like to thank the management of the club for having afforded me an opportunity to become part of the family.
“I’m excited to be here I’m going to work hard to maintain the good name of the club. It’s interesting times ahead I’m looking forward to the remaining part of the season and beyond.”
