Lyle Foster joined Burnley FC from Westerlo last month. He has already started playing and impressing for his new team.
After their match against Watford FC last week, where they drew 1-1, a couple from South Africa stayed behind to cheer on Foster as he was doing his post-match workout with his teammates.
He then ran toward the supporters and spoke to them.
The striker was promoted into the Orlando Pirates first team in 2018, as an 18-year-old. He scored himself a big move to AS Monaco in France in the same season.
It is reported that Orlando Pirates missed out on an opportunity to get remunerated following his move to Burnley.
“According to FIFA rules, a club that developed an U23 player is obliged to accrue a payment for every international transfer that the player makes.” The South African reported.
“Pirates waived their share of future sell-on fees in the case of Lyle Foster, however, when the now 22-year-old moved to Monaco back in 2019. The Ligue 1 Principality side paid R20 million for Foster back then, which is a tiny proportion of the €10 million (R194 million) that Burnley shelled out for the talented Bafana striker.”
The striker is yet to find the back of the net for his new side. WATCH: South African Fans Travel to Watch Lyle Foster Live in England!
