Oupa Manyisa and Brighton Mhlongo recently registered the Manyisa Mhlongo Foundation. They hope that they will be able to raise funds to grow their institution.
Not long ago the duo announced their football app My Football CV. In the app, young footballers can write down all their stats, and can even have highlight reels for themselves. In essence, these players would be their own agents, representing themselves.
Now, the duo is on a journey to cure the country of some of the socio-economic issues which exist.
“We will be donating 60 shoes and gift packs to learners that are in need,” Brighton Mhlongo told ZiMoja.
“And as time goes by, we will grow and hopefully get more financial assistance for us to expand. It takes a community to raise a child and we are appealing to people to lend a helping hand in anything they can assist with.” He added.
Brighton Mhlongo is retired from football and is a media personality while Oupa Manyisa plays for Platinum City Rovers.
“This really hits home for us. We wish to be good role models for the youth. The nation lacks role models and philanthropists who are there to serve with a purpose.” Manyisa spoke.
“We were also given a platform by people who believed in us. Someone stood in front of us when we were kids at school and motivated us not to give up and offered us the tools to navigate through life, therefore it doesn’t make sense for us to pass it on to the next generation,” he added.
They have held camps in a few countries in Southern Africa. Oupa Manyisa & Brighton Mhlongo Hope Their Foundation Will Grow!
