The ever-stylish Mekoa retired from professional football last year.

Manti Mekoa retired from football at the end of last season, Cape Umoya United being his last team. He is now reaping the benefits of a career which spanned over a decade.

Off the field of play, Mekoa was one of the most stylish active players in the PSL. In addition to his beautiful fashion sense, he also shows a great taste in his cologne collection, his palate and the places he goes to.

Despite dining in some of the finest restaurants in Johannesburg, he claims to still maintain his diet.

“I am not on a diet, but I always watch what I eat because 60% of how your body is what you eat and not what you do at the gym. I have also had to cut down on my sugar intake.” He spoke, as per Nounouche.

Retirement From Football

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder called time on his career at the end of last season, at the age of 36.

“I don’t think I will have time to continue playing football again.” Mekoa told Kick-Off back in 2022.

“I am now back in Johannesburg to focus on growing my business. I have enjoyed my time playing football, and now it’s time to start preparing for life after football.

“I would have loved to end my career on a high like helping Cape Umoya gain promotion to the DSTV Premiership.

“But I don’t have regrets as I enjoyed every moment of playing football.” He spoke.
