Kamohelo Mokotjo Hopes to Return to The Bafana Bafana Setup! The midfielder recently joined Babina Noko.
Kamohelo Mokotjo signed for Sekhukhune United in the January transfer window. He is hopeful that his displays will warrant him a return to the national team squad.
At 32 years old, Mokotjo can be referred to as somewhat of a veteran. Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos hasn’t taken too kindly to veterans.
Themba Zwane, who is 34 years old, is the only player of that age group still involved with the national team.
“For me, I don’t close any doors. It’s important to keep an open mind, but also to stick to what I know,” Mokotjo spoke, as per SABC Sport.
“Obviously, not being the obvious South African player, I play more effectively, and I can choose my moments. I control my teammates in situations, and make sure that things flow within the team.
“I know my role, but ja, I’m not closing any doors on anything. What I’m doing right now is working hard to stay fit, stay healthy, and keep progressing a level up. That’s the most important thing and staying as professional as I can.
“The crop that was there when I was still in Bafana, I think they’re only peaking now and it would have been the perfect time for them to still be in there, at their peak. he added.
“Things are done differently here, compared to other countries, and that’s that. But they have a lot of talented players in the national team and hopefully, things come together.” He confirmed.
