Marumo Gallants Set to Appoint Moroccan Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou

Marumo Gallants have confirmed that they are set to make a crucial change in their technical team by appointing a new head coach following the departure of Dan Malesela. The decision comes as part of the club’s efforts to improve its performance in the Betway Premiership, where they are currently struggling near the bottom of the log.

The Limpopo-based outfit has identified Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou as the man to lead them forward. Ouaddou, a former Moroccan international, has already arrived in South Africa to finalize talks with the club, signaling that his appointment is imminent.

Gallants made the coaching change official after their disappointing 3-1 loss to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday. In an official statement, the club announced the departure of both head coach Dan Malesela and technical director Molefi Ntseki, citing the team’s poor performance.

“Marumo Gallants FC has released Head Coach Dan Malesela and Technical Director Molefi Ntseki following the club’s struggle to improve its league standing. Currently 14th on the log with just four wins from 17 matches, Gallants is looking for a fresh approach. The club appreciates their contributions and wishes them well in their future endeavors,” read the statement.

In the meantime, assistant coaches Sundra Govender and Duncan Lechesa will take charge of the team while negotiations with Ouaddou are finalized. Gallants are eager to turn their season around with the new appointment, hoping that the Moroccan tactician’s experience will bring stability and positive results.
