Orlando Pirates Open Talks to Sign Baroka FC Wonderkid Kabelo Kgositsile

Orlando Pirates have begun scouting for new talent ahead of next season, with their sights set on 19-year-old winger Kabelo Kgositsile from Baroka FC.
The Buccaneers have reportedly opened negotiations with the NFD side after being impressed by Kgositsile’s performance in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 clash at Orlando Stadium. Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele confirmed that discussions are ongoing, though no formal agreement has been reached yet.
Pirates Keen on Securing Young Talent
Mphahlele revealed that Pirates chairman Dr. Irvin Khoza personally approached him about the young winger, expressing strong interest in securing his services.
“Pirates showed interest in him immediately after we played them in the Nedbank Cup. The chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, approached me,” Mphahlele told KickOff.
“We are currently discussing the contract, which ends sometime between 2027 and 2028. I’ve worked with Pirates many times, and all our deals have gone smoothly without any issues. I trust their word, and when they make a commitment, they follow through.”
While Baroka remains open to negotiations, Mphahlele emphasized that the final decision will depend on reaching a mutual agreement.
A Competitive Squad for Riveiro
Should Kgositsile complete a move to Pirates, he will be joining a team that has successfully developed young talents like Relebohile Mofokeng and Mohau Nkota under head coach Jose Riveiro. However, with Pirates already boasting several talented wingers, the youngster will need to prove himself to secure regular game time.
Meanwhile, the Soweto giants are also reportedly monitoring TS Galaxy winger Kamogelo Sebelebele as another potential signing.
With Pirates looking to strengthen their squad for next season, it remains to be seen whether Kgositsile will be the next exciting young talent to make his mark at the club.
