Neymar’s Return to Europe? Pini Zahavi in Talks with Barcelona and Bayern Munich

Neymar’s return to European football seems increasingly likely, with super agent Pini Zahavi reportedly working behind the scenes to facilitate a move for the Brazilian forward. According to reports from Sport, Zahavi is in discussions with both Barcelona and Bayern Munich to bring Neymar back to Europe during the upcoming summer transfer window.

A Last Dance in Europe?

After stints with Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and his recent move to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Neymar is reportedly eager for a “last dance” in Europe. Zahavi, who was instrumental in Neymar’s record-breaking transfer from Barcelona to PSG in 2017, is now eyeing a potential return for the forward to one of Europe’s top leagues. Neymar is reportedly open to returning to Spain, with Barcelona being a strong contender for his services.

Barcelona: Financial Constraints and Tactical Fit

Zahavi shares a close relationship with Barcelona president Joan Laporta, which could play a crucial role in Neymar’s potential move back to Catalonia. The Spanish giants are currently on the lookout for a left-sided attacker, and Neymar is said to be willing to accept a reasonable salary to facilitate the move, despite the financial constraints that Barcelona faces. However, while discussions have taken place, Barcelona has not actively pursued a deal for their former star.

The club’s summer transfer plans largely hinge on player sales, but with many players unwilling to leave, the financial picture remains unclear. Additionally, sporting director Deco has reportedly expressed doubts about how Neymar would fit into the tactical setup under coach Xavi Hernandez, especially given the team’s current needs and focus.

Bayern Munich: A Potential Landing Spot?

In addition to Barcelona, Zahavi is also exploring the possibility of bringing Neymar to Bayern Munich. However, the German giants are not currently planning a major squad overhaul for 2025, with their primary focus shifting toward Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz in 2026. Neymar, who has ruled out a move to the Premier League, could find Bayern an attractive option, although there has been no indication of serious interest from the Bavarians at this stage.

Neymar’s Recent Form

Since rejoining Santos in January, Neymar has impressed with three goals and three assists in just seven appearances. His performances have caught the attention of Brazil’s national team coach, Dorival Junior, who has recalled him to the Selecao squad for the first time since Neymar suffered a serious knee injury against Uruguay in October 2023. Neymar’s return to top form is crucial for his European prospects, as he continues to play an important role in Santos’ pursuit of success in the Paulista Championship.

With European clubs now keeping a close eye on his performances, Neymar’s future looks set to be the subject of further speculation as the summer transfer window approaches. Whether it’s a return to Barcelona or a move to Bayern Munich, Neymar’s next move could be one of the most exciting transfers of the year.
