Liverpool Reveal Transfer Fee Demands as Real Madrid Push for Early Trent Alexander-Arnold Deal

Liverpool have made their stance clear as Real Madrid continue to push for the early release of Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of this year’s FIFA Club World Cup. The Spanish giants are eager to include the England international in their squad for the tournament, but Liverpool are standing firm on their conditions.

Madrid Want Trent Before Contract Expiry

Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool is set to expire on June 30, which aligns with a planned free transfer to Real Madrid. However, the European champions are due to kick off their Club World Cup campaign on June 18 against Al-Hilal, and want the 25-year-old right-back available for the prestigious global event.

According to reports from Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, Madrid have opened communication with Liverpool to negotiate an early release for the defender. But the Reds are not letting their vice-captain go without a fight — or a fee.

Liverpool Set Price Tag, Demand Wage Concession

Spanish outlet AS has now revealed that Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes has set firm conditions for Alexander-Arnold’s early departure. Real Madrid reportedly offered €600,000 as a goodwill gesture to release the player two weeks ahead of schedule. However, Hughes is demanding €1 million for the club to agree to terminate his contract early.

Additionally, Liverpool expect Alexander-Arnold to forgo his £200,000 weekly wage for the month of June if he is to leave before the official expiration of his contract. If neither Madrid nor the player agrees to the Reds’ terms, Alexander-Arnold will be forced to wait until July 1 to complete his free move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Liverpool’s Final Push and a New Era Under Slot

Liverpool, freshly crowned Premier League champions under incoming boss Arne Slot, are preparing to close out their campaign with matches against Arsenal (May 11) and Brighton (May 19). Despite the excitement around the club’s future, the departure of Alexander-Arnold marks the end of an era for a player who has been pivotal in their recent successes.

With Madrid ready to welcome him into their star-studded squad and Liverpool standing their ground, the next few weeks will be critical in determining whether Alexander-Arnold joins the Spanish giants in time for the Club World Cup.

Will Real Madrid meet Liverpool’s €1 million demand, or will Trent have to wait until July? All eyes are now on Santiago Bernabéu and Anfield as negotiations continue.
