Kamogelo Sebelebele Shines as Orlando Pirates Find Winning Formula

Kamogelo Sebelebele has quickly emerged as a key player for Orlando Pirates, delivering crucial performances in the club’s last two matches. His contributions have not gone unnoticed, with head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou offering high praise for the winger’s impact on the team.

Pirates secured their first victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday, following two league defeats. Sebelebele was decisive once again, having also scored in the 1-1 first-leg draw against Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-final just four days earlier.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ouaddou described Sebelebele as “a fantastic player, a well-educated player, professional and very humble.” He emphasized that Sebelebele understands his role and consistently demonstrates dedication on the pitch.

“In football, humility is one of the most important qualities for a professional football player. As soon as you stop learning, you stop improving. He works hard every day since he joined the club,” Ouaddou said.

The coach highlighted Sebelebele’s versatility and willingness to adapt. “He doesn’t complain. I put him at right-back, I put him as a winger, and he’s always giving his best. He is the type of player we want in the team, and he has done a fantastic job.”

Pirates now face a critical second-leg clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday at 15:00. The team will need a high-scoring draw or an outright win to advance to their fourth consecutive MTN8 final, with Sebelebele expected to play a central role in their attack.

Sebelebele’s recent performances underline his growing importance to Pirates, combining skill, work ethic, and tactical awareness to help the team navigate a challenging start to the season.
