Marimo Gallants Strengthen Attack with Signing of Free-Scoring Striker Evanonye Kossi Adetu

Marimo Gallants have moved quickly to bolster their attacking options as the current transfer window closes, signing free-scoring striker Evanonye Kossi Adetu after losing four key forwards.
The club entered the season without Gabadinho Mhango, Junior Zindoga, Dino Ndlovu, and Junior Dion, all of whom were integral to Gallants’ forward line. This prompted the club to search for a proven goalscorer to lead the attack.
Adetu, 29, was born in Ghana to Togolese parents and holds a Ghanaian passport. He joins Gallants from Egyptian Second Division side Raya Ghazl Kafr Al-Dawar, with the deal pending the completion of his paperwork.
The striker brings experience across multiple leagues, having played in Northern Cyprus, Malaysia, Libya, Ghana, and Liberia. His standout performances came in the KTFF Super Lig in Northern Cyprus, where he scored 38 goals in 41 games and secured the Golden Boot in Liberia.
Gallants officials said the player’s record convinced them to proceed with the signing, and they are currently finalising the administrative process to make him eligible.
Adetu’s arrival comes shortly after Khanyisa Mayo joined Kaizer Chiefs on loan from Algerian club CR Belouizdad for the remainder of the season. Gallants hope Adetu can fill the void left by their departing forwards and provide the attacking firepower needed to compete this season.
The addition signals Gallants’ intent to remain competitive and ensures they maintain a strong attacking presence despite a challenging start to the campaign.
