PSL Clubs Can Still Strengthen Squads Through Free Agents

Although the PSL transfer window closed on Monday after nearly three months of player movement, clubs still have opportunities to bolster their squads by signing free agents. Several players released during the transfer period remain without new clubs, providing options for teams facing squad challenges.

Clubs often turn to the free agent market for multiple reasons. Injuries to key players can create urgent gaps that need immediate attention. Similarly, a slow start to the season may prompt management to seek additional talent to remain competitive in the league.

One notable example is former Mamelodi Sundowns utility player Rivaldo Coetzee. He has been training with Sekhukhune United, but no formal agreement has been reached, leaving him available for clubs willing to secure his services.

There are several other free agents still seeking new clubs, offering opportunities for teams to address depth issues or strengthen their lineup.

The post-transfer window period provides flexibility for clubs, allowing them to respond to unexpected challenges while giving free agents a chance to continue their professional careers.
