Lehlohonolo Seema Praises Kaizer Chiefs Loanee Samkelo Zwane’s Progress at Siwelele FC

Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema has expressed confidence in midfielder Samkelo Zwane’s development since joining the club on loan from Kaizer Chiefs.

Zwane made his first start for Siwelele in their narrow 1-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium on Saturday. The match was tightly contested until Pirates’ Mbekezeli Mbokazi scored the decisive goal three minutes before full-time.

Despite the loss, Seema said there were encouraging signs from his side, particularly from Zwane, who had previously made two second-half appearances this season.

“Starting him against Pirates shows that he’s ready,” Seema told reporters after the match. “The challenge with most of the players we brought in is that they haven’t had enough game time. We’re introducing them gradually because they’re still working on match sharpness and decision-making. But Zwane’s talent is clear.”

Seema also credited his technical team for helping new players settle into the squad. “Credit must go to our conditioning department. Those guys are working very hard to get everyone to the required level,” he said.

The 21-year-old Zwane joined Siwelele to gain regular minutes and rebuild confidence after struggling for game time at Kaizer Chiefs. He is one of several players seeking career revivals under Seema’s guidance, alongside Samir Nurkovic, Happy Mashiane, and Zakhele Lepasa.

Zwane’s inclusion in the starting lineup reflects Seema’s long-term plan to integrate promising players into a cohesive unit. The coach is balancing short-term results with the broader goal of building a competitive and well-conditioned squad.

Although Siwelele have had a mixed start to the campaign, their performances show improvement. The team’s structure, intensity, and tactical discipline have steadily improved with each match.

Siwelele will next face Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday, 22 October, at FNB Stadium. The match will be a crucial test for Seema’s men and a special occasion for Zwane, who will face his parent club for the first time since his loan move.
