Samkelo Zwane Advised to Use Siwelele Loan as Growth Opportunity

Samkelo Zwane has been encouraged to view his loan spell at Siwelele FC as a key opportunity to gain regular game time and build momentum for his career at Kaizer Chiefs. The 23-year-old midfielder has made four appearances since moving on loan in September, seeking minutes he struggled to secure at Chiefs, where his last match action came in February.

Tony Dias, Zwane’s development coach at Mpumalanga Black Aces, emphasized the importance of embracing the loan period as a step forward in his development. Zwane, who came through the Aces youth system before joining Chiefs, is familiar to Dias, who highlighted the value of consistent play in shaping a young player’s career.

“Samkelo will get to play at Siwelele, which is what he needs right now in his career,” Dias said. “He will have benefited at the end of the loan deal because what matters is that he will play. At times, you need to understand and welcome the reality that to move forward, you need to take a step back.”

Zwane’s move offers him the chance to refresh his form, regain confidence, and adapt to regular first-team football. Dias stressed that active participation on the field is far more valuable than remaining on the sidelines, where progress can stall.

“This loan is about momentum,” Dias added. “Getting to play while on loan will refresh him instead of just biting his nails in the stands at Chiefs. It’s a period that can help him sharpen his skills, build match fitness, and return to his parent club ready to compete for regular minutes.”

With a full season ahead at Siwelele, Zwane now has the platform to prove his abilities, refine his game, and position himself for a stronger role at Kaizer Chiefs once he returns. Consistent performance on loan could be the springboard that secures his long-term place in Chiefs’ first-team plans.
