Siwelele FC Sign Former Magesi Winger Maloisane Mokhele

Siwelele FC have strengthened their squad with the signing of former Magesi FC winger Maloisane Mokhele. The 29-year-old was previously playing in Botswana for Matebele FC before the Free State-based club secured his services for an undisclosed transfer fee. Mokhele began training with Siwelele two weeks ago and has now officially signed a contract running until the end of the season. The winger confirmed the move on Friday morning, saying, “That’s true. I’ve signed with Siwelele until June.”

Mokhele, who was nominated as the 2020/21 Nedbank Cup Most Promising Player, believes he can make an immediate impact for Lehlohonolo Seema’s side. His first competitive appearance could come in Siwelele’s Nedbank Cup last-32 clash at home against Richards Bay on 8 February. The winger emphasized his readiness for the challenge, stating, “Fitness-wise, I’m tops. I’m ready for the challenge.” His experience in both the domestic league and abroad adds depth and versatility to Siwelele’s attacking options.

Born in Bothaville, a maize farming town in the Free State near the Vaal River, Mokhele feels at home returning to the region. His familiarity with the local football environment and previous PSL experience make him a valuable addition to the squad. The club is confident his presence will improve the team’s performance, especially in crucial league and cup fixtures. Mokhele’s signing continues Siwelele’s strategy of blending experienced players with younger talent to compete effectively in the top flight.

This move follows a similar path taken by Siwelele with winger Kgaogelo Sekgota, who returned from the ABC Motsepe League after playing for Tubatse United. Sekgota made an immediate impression by scoring in the first minute of his debut in a 1-1 league draw against Richards Bay last week. Mokhele will look to emulate that impact, providing options and creativity on the flanks. Siwelele’s recent acquisitions indicate the club’s ambition to compete strongly in both league and cup competitions this season.
