A Record LaLiga Campaign For Real Madrid Captain Sergio Ramos

The captain has broken his record for appearances and goals this season.

Sergio Ramos has been one of the central figures in Real Madrid’s34th LaLiga success. A leader on and off the pitch, this season has seen the captain improve on his best campaign in terms of appearances made (35), eclipsing the 34 matches he played in 2011/12. He has also blitzed his goal-scoring record in a single season (11), far exceeding the 7 he netted in 2016/17.

Ramos was more decisive than ever following the return of LaLiga. In fact, in the 11 games since the post-lockdown resumption, he scored 6 goals (Éibar, Real Sociedad, Mallorca, Getafe, Athletic and Leganés). Only Benzema and Gerard Moreno netted more in the same period (7).

The Andalusian ace has also delivered standout performances from a defensive perspective, totalling 211 ball recoveries (over six per game), while proving a steady influence when playing the ball out from the back, averaging 91% pass completion.
