AFCON Preview: Burkina Faso Aiming to Reach Final on Sunday! The Burkinabe tackle The Teranga Lions for a final spot tonight.

Burkina Faso face Senegal in their AFCON semi-final tonight. The winner will make it to the showpiece final on Sunday night.

The Burkinabe have surprised many to make it this far in the competition. Without any disrespect, but they would not be identified as one of the best four footballing nations in Africa.

However, poor displays and results of some of the continents better nations has led to their elimination in the biggest competition in Africa. Therefore, Burkina Faso find themselves one match away from reaching their first final since 2013 in South Africa at the FNB Stadium, when they lost to Nigeria.

“Personally, I achieved my goal, but as a competitor I aim to win the trophy next Sunday.” Burkina Faso head coach Kamou Malo told the media.

“We are determined to go all the way to win the title. Against Senegal, a great footballing country, we have to be ourselves.

“The main thing is to play our usual game.” He stressed.

They will hope to have the influential Bertrand Traoré back in their squad. But in goalkeeper Kouakou Hervé Koffi they have one of the best performers in this year’s AFCON.

“The most important thing for us is to go as far as possible in the competition.

“I’m satisfied with my teammates, and I can promise you that we’re going to do our best to get the title. We are expecting a great match this Wednesday against Senegal with positive pressure.” The goalkeeper stated.
