AFCON Preview: Malawi Braced for Tough Test Against Morocco! The West Africans take on the North Africans later this evening.

Malawi will play against Morocco in their AFCON last 16 fixture tonight. They are well aware of the difficult task that stands beyond them.

The Malawians are by far the underdogs in this fixture. In Morocco, they face a side which is laden with top quality players, playing for some of the biggest teams in World football.

Compared to their rather modest squad, they should be disposed of. However, this year’s AFCON has proved that no team can rest on their laurels.

Many supposed favourites have already been sent packing and Malawi will hope to produce yet another shock tonight.

“We have prepared for this game as we have done in previous games.” Malawi coach Mario Marinica told the press ahead of the game.

“We are organized, and we will take the field with full determination. We continue to work together.

“Defensively Malawi is a strong team with very good players. We will try to play the best way.

“We have faced all difficulties with hard work and confidence.” He added.

They qualified through their group as one of the four best third placed sides in the early stages. They are also spearheaded by Orlando Pirates striker Gabadinho Mhango.
