Senegal play Burkina Faso in their AFCON semi-final encounter this evening. They need to overcome one more hurdle to reach a stage they reached three years ago.

The Teranga Lions have enjoyed a steady improvement the longer they’ve placed in this year’s AFCON. This is after their 3-1 win in the quarterfinals.

Senegal had a pretty rudimentary group stage, as they crawled out of it. Their performances have slowly gotten better and better.

Right now, they have the opportunity to make it to successive AFCON finals. Firstly, they will need to beat the resolute Burkina Faso tonight.

“We prepared well for our semi-final against Burkina Faso, even if we didn’t have a lot of time.” Head coach Aliou Cisse told the press.
