Lesedi Kapinga Wants to Focus to Build His Career Once More! The winger is currently searching for a new club.
Lesedi Kapinga is a free agent after being released by Mamelodi Sundowns last season. He wants to focus on rebuilding himself and his career.
Kapinga spent the last three seasons at The Brazilians, where he won the DSTV Premiership title in each campaign. However, he spent most of this time on the periphery.
The winger rarely started games, as he was a fringe player in his time. This has seen the hype surrounding him from his Black Leopards days ultimately suffer.
He is now looking for a new team.
“Mentally, maybe it got me in a good space,” Kapinga told members of the media.
“I believe I have learnt a lot, so I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing.
“Maybe I had to go through such a thing for me to be strong as a player and also to grow as a human being. So, I just take it as a lesson and be wise.”
He claims that he didn’t question the Sundowns’ coaching staff on his lack of playing time.
“I just feel like sometimes it’s good not to know a lot of things about it. If Sundowns works for other players, it doesn’t mean it will work for me,” Kapinga said.
“I just must focus on my career and build myself again.” The winger elaborated.
Kapinga was part of the Bafana Bafana squad which participated in the COSAFA Cup recently.
“It has been a great experience for me to be here. It gave me a chance to play as well because I have not been playing for a long time.
“I feel like COSAFA gave me a belief that I can do more as a player. I really think I needed this one.
“I needed to be at camp with the guys.” He added.
