Yesterday Usuthu announced a unique board signing. They also unveiled the signings of Veli Mothwa and Phakamani Mahlambi.
AmaZulu Sign New General Manager In Addition To New Players! Tsepo Mofokeng, an LLB and MLB graduate, joined the side as their new GM.
“My role is to support the President in ensuring that the daily activities at AmaZulu run smoothly, from the infrastructure, to the wellbeing of the players.” Mofokeng tells the club website.
“Importantly, I will ensure that all structures of the club understand the corporate governance at AmaZulu in the context of our values and ethics,” he added.
AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu was very happy to announce the new pieces in his ever growing puzzle.
“To strengthen AmaZulu and work towards the vision we have set out for the club, we must be intentional and strategic in how we build this team,” President Zungu said.
“Our players and technical staff must be supported by a strong managerial and administrative team that will ensure the objectives of the club are achieved while our values remain intact,”
This is something that allured goalkeeper Veli Mothwa to the KZN side. He was impressed with the overall planning that AmaZulu have been doing.
“AmaZulu have great ambitions, supported by a winning mentality at the club. You need only look at the players they have come onboard in recent time and you can see that the club means business in terms of elevating the brand,” he explains.
“The President (Sandile Zungu), the Directors and management have done their job, it up to us as the players to do the work where it counts the most, on the football pitch. I want to add value to this amazing squad which has been assembled,” Mothwa concluded.
Phakamani Mahlambi Explains His Reasons For Leaving Mamelodi Sundowns.
“I had a conversation with coach Manqoba, who told me about everything so that I could understand,” said Mahlambi told the media.
“It was my intention to leave and go play football again, and get back to the Phakamani that people know.
“I think AmaZulu have good quality players, some of which are guys that I used to grow up watching and now it’s going to be a pleasure for me to work with them. Hopefully they are going to help me to reach my full potential.
“If I had to stay at Sundowns, it was clear I wasn’t going to play and I wasn’t going to be selected for the [under-23] national team.
“So, I had to find a way of me getting game-time so that the national team coach can be able to select me again.” Mahlambi concluded.
